Unauthorised structures in Hall Park to be removed by Allerdale.

Several unauthorised structures in Workington’s Hall Park which are posing a significant safety risk are due to be taken down by the council.
It is believed the structures, which include trails, ramps, jumps and water-filled excavations, are being used by people as unofficial bike or BMX tracks through the parks.
As well as posing a safety risk the structures are causing serious damage to the woodland and wildlife habitats in Hall Park. Other issues being caused by this activity include obstructions to footpaths, fire damage and littering.
It is also believed that large gatherings of people are taking place to use these unauthorised structures, in contravention of Covid-19 restrictions.
To address these unauthorised works, the council will remove the structures and begin a programme to reinstate the land and remedy the damage on Monday, 15 March 2021. Any person purporting to own any structures or materials on site should remove them before Sunday, 14 March 2021. Any articles left following this date will be removed and disposed of.
