WW1 Centenary Beacon Lighting

The Duffield Beacon in Vulcan Park, Workington will be lit on Sunday 11 November in commemoration and remembrance of the end of WW1.

6.55pm: The Last Post will be played

7pm: The lighting of the beacon

The ceremony is part of a wider act of remembrance that will see Beacons of Light lit throughout the United Kingdom - a century after the guns fell silent. The Beacons will symbolise the 'light of hope' that emerged from the darkness of war.

Everyone is welcome to attend and we hope you are able to join us.
