Autumn photography competition winners announced

The Mayor of Workington, Cllr Janet King and Culture Committee Chair, Cllr Carole Armstrong, are delighted to announce the winners of Workington Town Council’s #autumninworkington competition.

Over 18 winner – Anni Blaikie
13-17 years – Jessica Irving
Under 12 – Neve McArdle

Winners will receive a voucher for a store of their choice, worth between £100-£150 and the younger age categories will also receive some Derwent Pencils.

Cllr King, commented, ‘we were delighted with all the entries we received, people had really thought about the theme and we had a tough decision choosing the winners. Thank you to everyone who entered, but also to Dobies Charitable Trust and Derwent Pencils for their contributions to the prizes.
Look out for more competitions like this next year!’

The competition, which ran from 21st September – 2nd November, encouraged people to take photographs of ‘Autumn in Workington’.

Winning photographs can be seen on the Town Council’s website, social media channels and the digital colour screen under the hub in the Town Centre.

The Town Council are working on an exhibition of the winners’ photographic portfolios, which they hope to display in the town centre in early 2021.
