Workington Mayor's Civic Dinner - a celebration of Cumbria's heritage

The Mayor of Workington will host a fun evening of Cumbrian culture and food with great company on Saturday 25th April in the Helena Thompson Museum, 6.30pm for 7pm start.
Everyone is welcome to come along for a three-course dinner of traditional, locally-sourced Cumbrian food, and an evening of entertaining stories, songs and sonnets by our Lakeland dialect poets and storytellers presented by the Lakeland Dialect Society.
Tickets are £25 per person.
The aim of the evening is to fundraise for The Mayor's charities: Young Cumbria and Young Carers, West Cumbria.
The Mayor of Workington, Cllr Janet King, said, ‘I am delighted to be hosting a dinner to celebrate Cumbrian culture at such a beautiful venue, and everyone is welcome to come along and help me raise funds for my worthwhile charities. With entertainment from The Lakeland Dialect Society it’s going to be a fun evening!’

Cheques for tickets or donations to be made payable to The Mayor of Workington’s Charity Fund.
Any donations of prizes which could be raffled on the evening would be gratefully appreciated and can be dropped off at the Town Hall, Oxford Street, Workington, before 25th April.
