Council seeks help for WWII roll of honour
Workington Town Council is looking for help from the community to ensure the information on their WWII roll of honour is accurate.
The Town Council will be working with local charity Soundwave to create an oral recording of the WWII roll of honour, which will be used as part of VE day activities, taking place in Workington, on Friday 8th May.
The roll of honour can be downloaded from the Council’s website www.visitworkington.co.uk/veday and they ask the public to e-mail office@workingtontowncouncil.gov.uk or call the office on 01900 702986 to notify them of any updates.
The Council also invites the public to join them in Vulcan Park, Workington, at 2.45pm on Friday 8th May for a brief ceremony and toast to heroes.
