Mayor's Christmas Card Competition 2020

This year the theme for the Mayor's Christmas card is:  The Joy of Christmas.

What does Christmas mean to you? Is it the opening of presents, sitting down to eat Christmas dinner together or perhaps watching your favourite programme on TV?  Whatever it might be, draw a picture and send it in.  We can't wait to see what you come up with.  Remember that your picture could be chosen for the front of the Mayor's Christmas card so use lots of colour!

The competition is open to anyone from the ages of 4-18 years old, who lives in Workington.  Pictures should be in colour and a maximum size of A3.

In addition to the winning picture being used on the front of the Christmas card, the winner will be invited to switch on the Town’s Christmas lights (28 November at 5pm*), plus they and a runner up in each age category will receive a hamper full of goodies.

Age categories:  4-7 years, 8-11 years, and 12-18 years.

Download an entry form here and make sure it's attached to your picture if you are

sending your entry through the post.

The closing deadline for entries is Friday 6th November 2020.

*COVID-19: the Christmas lights switch on will be broadcast live from a venue in Workington (venue tbc). To ensure social distancing guidelines can be followed only the winner will be invited to attend, along with the Mayor of Workington.

All entries received in paper format will be placed in a COVID-19 secure container for 72 hours, as will the hampers for the winner / runners up.
