Mayor's Christmas Card Competition 2026
This year the theme for the Mayor's Christmas Card Competition is:
"CHRISTMAS IN WORKINGTON"
The Mayor of Workington, Councillor Sue Fryer, would love to see your artwork showing what Christmas in Workington means to you! This could include local landmarks, festive celebrations, winter scenes, Christmas lights, community events, or anything else that makes Christmas in Workington special.
Top Tip from the Mayor:
"I love to celebrate Christmas in Workington and all things sparkly, especially at Christmas!"
The competition is open to anyone aged 4-18 years who lives within the parish of Workington.
Pictures should be completed using colour pens or pencils only and must be no larger than A4 size.
A winning picture will be selected from each age category and featured as part of the Mayor's Christmas Card Collection for 2026. Each category winner will be invited to switch on the Town's Christmas Lights on Saturday 28th November 2026 at 5.00pm and will receive a hamper full of goodies.

Terms and conditions

A winning picture will be selected from each age category to feature as part of the Mayor of Workington's Christmas Card collection for 2026.

The competition is open to anyone aged 4-18 years who lives within the parish of Workington.

Prizes on offer are: one winner from each age category, who will receive a hamper full of goodies and be invited to switch on the Town's Christmas Lights on Saturday 28th November 2026 at 5.00pm.

Entries should be completed using colour pens or pencils only. Please do not use glitter, paints, textured materials or embellishments.

Only one entry per person is permitted.

Scanned and e-mailed entries will be accepted. Entries should be sent to office@workingtontowncouncil.gov.uk.

Entrants must live within the parish of Workington.

Entries must be no larger than A4 and have a completed entry form attached to the back. For class entries, one entry form may be submitted per class, provided that each child's name is clearly written on the back of their artwork.

Entries must be received by Wednesday 4th November 2026.

We regret that pictures cannot be returned after submission.

Competition judging will take place in November by the Mayor of Workington.

Entry to the competition confirms acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.

The Mayor's decision is final, and no correspondence will be entered into.

No cash alternative will be offered in place of a prize.

By entering the competition, entrants agree that their artwork may be reproduced by Workington Town Council for Christmas card, promotional, publicity and display purposes
